I came down stairs at the fire station to cook myself some dinner. While doing so, my back was turned to the television on which CNN or some other news outlet was broadcasting the Trump campaign rally on 7/13/24. As I was preparing my meal, I heard a fellow firefighter exclaim, “Oh my God, did you see that?!” I turned around to see about 10 people dressed in black suits huddled around the bottom of the potium that President Trump, who just a moment before, was standing behind while delivering his speech. My friend said, “I think Trump just got shot!” But the writing on the bottom of the screen read something like, “Secret service swarms Trump after he falls.” Typical. After about 1-2 minutes, President Trump emerged in the midst of a huddle of secret service men and women as they attempted to rush him off the stage, then I saw something that filled me with more hope, pride and love of country than anything since our country’s response to the 911 attacks. What I saw was what the entire country eventually saw, which was Trump, stopping his secret service detail right there on the stage, raising his fist in the air and, with blood streaming down his face, and repeatedly yelling the word, “Fight!”. The photo that was taken, which will inevitably immortalize the moment, is the climax of the last 8 years of President Trump’s life as he as been villified and demonized as the the 1 person who will utterly destroy our democracy. As Doug Wilson brilliantly said in his recent blog, “If Trump is the threat to democracy that the liberals say he is, what’s wrong with assassinating him? Why did Biden call Trump telling him he was glad Trump was ok, if Trump is that serious of a threat to our democracy?” Valid point I would say. I would also add that if Biden is going to say, just five days prior to the attempt on Trump’s life, something as hostile as, “It’s time to put Trump in the bullseye”, should one not conclude that the shooter was just following orders? If you ask me, Joe Biden did no less than put a hit out on Trump with those foolish words. Trump has his problems, yes, but he is not even close to being the threat to our nations future as the current administration and the ideology of liberal democrats…Not that modern republican ideals are that much better (I’ll circle back to that in a minute).
Trump left that rally as the picture of resolve, resiliency, and resistance that should convince anyone who hates the current administration, yet is still on the fence about Trump, to finally get on board. I pray that this event will ultimately result in president Trump repenting of his unbelief and in faith, turning to Christ for salvation.
DEI (Diverstiy, Equity, and Inclusion) - Pretty soon it’ll be another Government Agency
A quick observation of the diversity among the secret service members. Alot can be said about the Secret Service’s actions on 7/13/2024. For example: How did an assassin get to within 150 yards of a presidential candidate with a clear line of sight? Why did it take so long for the secret service to react after they received reports of a gunman on the roof? Was it an inside job? Was the gunman following the orders of the current commander in chief? I think these are all valid questions, but at this point any further comment would just be speculation. The thing I will comment on is the disgusting show of piss poor tactical functionality of the female Secret Service members. There is one lady in particluar that is shown in several photos and video clips displaying complete incomeptence and unprofessionalism. In one photo this lady is seen actually hiding beind the group of secret service members protecting the president. She is later seen in a video clip not knowing what to do with her firearm. Another lady was seen trying to fix the position of her sunglasses. All the female secret service members that I saw were all running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Bless their hearts. It makes one wonder, if they even train for unfortunate events like this. Another question that comes to mind is, “What are women doing serving in the Secret Service anyway?” I am not attacking these women personally; they could be very nice and pleasant ladies, but women are not supposed to be protecting men. Men are the protectors, that’s how it’s always been and how it should always be. I call my son, Jude, the prince of our home and my daughters, Lila and Vivian, princesses. I tell Jude that his job, even as the youngest child, is to protect the princesses. Men protect women, not the other way around. But in the spirit of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion we’ll place females in harms way by allowing them to serve in the Secret Service, as well as other similar professions, thus making, in this scenario, the principal, ie. a presidential candidate less safe; but good job, at least you were inclusive.
The RNC and Syncretism
While there were a few strong speeches made by some fairly sharp individuals at the RNC the last few days, the majority of the event was a disgusting display of syncretism and a limp wristed agenda. The message of the republican party has softened significantly and, in my opinion, will not look much different than the democratic party by the next election cycle. The republican party will embrace the false gospel of DEI and in just a few short years, Christians and the truly grassroots conservatives will be even more marginalized than they already are.
All that said, one of the highlights for me was at the end of the first night when a Lutheran pastor from the local area was asked to close out the night with a prayer/benediction. The guy was a hoot. He came out and did an impression of Trump which was hilarious then he gave a surprisingly solid and unapologetically Trinitarian benediction. I was encouraged! I was like, “Let’s go!” Unfortunatley, this high point was immediately followed by lowest of low points. After the Lutheran pastor walked off the stage, a hindu or sikh priestess walked on the stage to offer her own prayer/benediction to her god. This probably shouldn’t have surprised me, but it did. I must admit I was shocked. What shocked me even more was the footage of so many folks in the crowd joining in this pagan prayer to a false god…for all intents and purposes, a demon. The RNC was literally praying to a demon to “save our nation”; and we wonder why our nation is in such bad shape. The guys are cross poltic had a good podcast on this very piece of the RNC. You can view it here.
The United States is in the middle of a major identity crisis. It would’ve been so nice to hear someone, anyone get up there and say something like, “Christ is King. Jesus is Lord of the universe. The United States has been blessed by God’s grace and mercy and we have rejected Him. We need to repent as a nation, repent as individuals and turn to Christ and live. Republican leaders, kiss the Son lest he be angry with you and your perish in the way.” Hearing a political figure say something like that would have been huge, but why would any political figure proclaim that sentiment when most pastor’s will not. Saying something like that makes people uncomfortable and after all, that’s what people really want…comfort. It’s clear that the true god of our nation is “the people” and “the people” don’t care who individual’s worship, they don’t care which god is given praise so long as the ulimate god, Demas or “the people” — which is where the word “Democracy” comes from, is never usurped.
‘Til next time, fight on!
Well said!
